This Sunday I run my 'for the shirt' half. Hubs & Thing 1 are running too. Thing 1 thinks he can beat dear ol Dad. He can, but Dad has been messing with his head for the last week or so & may succeed in psyching him out.
It is November. There is frost on the ground. I have to wear pants to run. Sigh.
What is your transition temperature? When do you give in and put away your shorts or skirts?
It's still a mix of both here. If I run early mornings, it's long pants and long sleeve shirts. I's any where from 20 to 30 degrees out. If I run around noon to 3PM, I can get away with shorts.
ReplyDeleteRule of thumb for me:
45 degrees and above = shorts
Anything under that it's long pants for sure!
Depends on the wind and the temp. Anything above 40 with no wind I can still do shorts and a long sleeve....you add wind and definitely in pants when its 45 or below. I am not looking forward to winter running. That I know for sure!!
ReplyDeletePants as of this evening, but they were wind pants.... Otherwise I don't do shorts under 10C (42F). And you are ON sister, for the 22 Mile in TO. It's a date.
ReplyDeleteHi Tracy! So great to hear from you...I loved your comment. So inspirational. I'm still running in capris right now but I'm sure the days are quickly approaching where I will be wearing full length pants. :)
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm wimpy, I've been wearing pants for awhile and it's still a balmy 5-10 degrees here!
ReplyDeleteI can always run in shorts here in Oregon...even when it snows, but I did appreciate my 3/4 tights the other morning when it was a bit chilly. I always warm up pretty quickly and regret overdressing.
ReplyDeleteI tend to put pants on in the 30's. I have been wearing pant for a couple of weeks now, but I did get away with shorts on wednesday it was in the high 40's. My legs I dont tend to worry as much about as I do my top half. I tend to get so much colder on the top than I do the bottom. Good luck on your race.
ReplyDeleteSorry, that would be 52F, and you'd better make that 60F before I wear pants, I don't like being chilly. :)
