The Best Run

Today I had the BEST run! It wasn't the fastest or longest, nor did I get a PR or conquer a new distance. So WHY was it the best? Because it brought me such joy & contentment just being out there today! What set those conditions that had me reveling in the simple joy of running was a particularly rough 3 days of work. Quite frankly, it was 36 hours of exhausting crap-ola. Thank god I have hilarious co-workers who can even make you laugh when someone pees on your arm. Again.

As I was running I just felt it all slide away. I was smiling. I felt light again. Balance restored :)

So tell me, what makes your runs the best? Is it a run where you worked really hard? A long run? One where you find the cone of silence that your kids keep hiding?

Whatever it is, I hope you found it today. Happy Running!

It's awesome to get in a good run for any reason. I had a great one on Sunday myself!

Congrats on an awesome run! Love it when that happens. I love to run when I am feeling cranky and the run makes it all fade away.

Love it when that happens. I had one Saturday myself, two hours in the woods on single track and I didn't see another soul!

Totally understand this feeling! I was smiling throughout my run on Saturday because it was just nice to be outside, running, moving, breathing in the bay air and just enjoying being!

I get pretty anxious before just about every run, be it a long, interval or tempo run. I know there's no finish line or anyone's life depending on my run, but there's still that itty-bitty voice in my head telling me I can't do it, I'm not a runner. So, once I get going and I've shoved a sock in that annoying person's mouth (think one of your colorful ones!), every run becomes a good run. 75 pounds heavier I never DREAMED of doing the things I'm doing!

I wish I had been a runner when I still lived by the water. I think it's so rejuvenating running along it. You are a lucky gal :)

Mine are the best when I finish up strong and don't feel like death eating a cracker. I love to feel like I still have something in the tank or that I ran faster without that ugggg feeling. You know what I mean.

Funny co workers make everything better as well!

I'm glad you had a great run! I always feel great after a long run or one that I worked really hard at. Even if a run doesn't go my way I still, usually, feel pretty good! Just getting out there is the key.

So great to hear you had a great run! My long run this past Saturday felt like that.....I wasn't too absorbed with my pace, I was just running, feeling free and totally loving it. I think everyone needs a run like that more often!
