I am a SPAZ...

Really. In capital letters! When only 100 feet from the end of a relatively benign trail, after not even 4 miles out, I trip on something (a leaf????) and do this:

Threw me for a few minutes...you know, the shock of "I'm ok, but that hurt like a SOB, geez I hope no one saw that, omg I'm an idiot, where's the car"....all in one long in-your-mind freaked out run-on sentence!

All is well now. Just a bruise remaining, but crap, I hate it when that happens!

And for those that are going to say that I shouldn't have been on the trail alone. I was and I wasn't. I went to a particular trail alone, but it is well populated and on a college campus. I even had to duck out of an engagement photo shoot! besides, I have fallen in the middle of the sidewalk too....in the middle of town. Yup. Spaz. Maybe I should wear a helmet?!? Lmao! Could you imagine?

All in all, still love the trail and can't wait to get back out there with my buddy in a more remote area.

Have you ever had a spaz moment while out running?

I fall one what seems like half of my trail runs. Usually toward the end of the run as I'm zoned out and tired, I trip on a root hidden by leafs and go sprawling before I even know what happens. It usually takes me a minute to gather myself, check for injuries and find my water bottle. You are not alone :-).

I am a regular faller, and I'd much rather fall on trails than sidewalks. Still have a nasty scar from my last sidewalk fall.

I don't even want to jinx myself!!! Did you tuck and roll? Who knew running was a full-contact sport? Feel better! I'm sure when there are witnesses the ego hurts the most!

I've had about 10 of those moments when out trail racing! First race ever, within the first 5 miles I wrapped myself around a tree trying to catch my fall. My entire hand was bloody and arm too! I mean, what a goof! I should have just fallen!! I think it's part of why we like doing it tho, such an adventure!!

I haven't fallen while running but walking is an entirely different story! I feel three times in the same week last fall and Allan was really starting to think something was wrong with me.

That bruise looks like it hurts!

Oh no! I'm glad you are alright!

I haven't had any bad moments while running but I definitely do trip over a lot of things. I slid down my parents' stairs one time (wooden) and landed on my back. I felt nauseous after that one!

Ouch! At this point I'm just used to taking spills.
My perfect 10 was a trail run in the mountains. I finished the trails (masterfully hopping around rocks and roots). Once I got to the paved trail back in town I saw a lovely hear dog deer. Right when I was thinking "Awww!" I tripped over my feel and tore up me knees. I'm pretty sure the deer were laughing.

Oh fudge that sucks! Damn leaf! I fell once in the middle of a cross walk and sprang up so quick I didn't even know if I was hurt. After my run, I inspected my self to find nothing injuried. So I thought. The next morning, both of my wrists were sore. I must have caught myself without letting my knees hit. How's that spaz moment?!
